We are approaching year's end, with all the excitement and anticipation of Christmas and thoughts of what may face us in 2013. So much has happened to me in 2012, including the loss of my father Geoffrey and two exceptional friends; Jane in May and Beth in November. I knew Jane for 23 years, Beth for just 4 years and their friendships meant, and will always mean, so much to me. The people we know as friends shape our lives in ways that are both subtle and profound. So I take you forward with me Beth and Jane, and Dad too, having learnt so many valuable and worthy things from each of you.
